Zelenskyy commented, "We can already see that Moscow is scrambling to restart dialogue immediately after it learns of Tomahawks." This statement referred to recent comments about providing advanced weapons to Ukraine.

Diplomatic Moves and Global Responses

A former American diplomat, a foreign policy expert, commented, "Putin is trying to disrupt the progress toward greater pressure on the Kremlin." Fried continued, "We'll see tomorrow, but the likelihood of achieving a truce by pressuring Russia to engage sincerely seem to have diminished."

The development came after Trump had in recent days been hardening his language toward Russia until the recent conversation with the Russian president, which the Kremlin characterized as "highly frank and constructive."

EU Energy Sanctions and Market Effects

The European Union have established a mandate for fuel importers into the EU to demonstrate their products are not made from Russian oil, according to a document released on recently. This measure is included in the EU's forthcoming prohibition on imports of refined products processed from Russian crude, which forms part of its 18th restrictive measures against Russia over its military actions in the region.

Financial analysts observed that trading activity appeared to be considering the possible end of Indian purchases of Russian crude. Several oil processors in India are preparing to reduce purchases from Russia, with projections of a gradual reduction, as reported by sources familiar with the situation.

"This represents a favorable turn for the oil market as it would remove a big customer of Russian oil," commented a market analyst, noting that crude values were steady on Thursday.

Security Situation and Energy Strikes

A large-scale Russian drone and rocket assault hit energy infrastructure in eastern Ukraine on Thursday, causing outages in eight areas. Ukrainian officials reported that Russia launched numerous of drones and many of projectiles, along with glide bombs.

"During this fall, the Russians use daily opportunities to attack at our energy infrastructure," said Ukraine's president, noting that strikes impacted the areas of northern Ukraine, eastern Ukraine, Poltava, Sumy and western Ukraine.
