Mohamed Salah Issues Apology to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Salah said sorry to the group of players after the uproar from his public comments.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a European match after voicing frustrations and stating his relationship with manager had broken down.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has previously declined to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the player.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the team's response stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also suggested that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the games following the situation. He feels the forward's comments were not designed to destabilise the squad.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and on a positive run.”
