Fresh Information Emerge Regarding the Finding of the Reiner Couple's Bodies

New information has come to light about the untimely passing of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their residence property on Sunday.

A Discovery

As detailed in an account quoting a person close to the family, a practitioner arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the home. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

When she went into the house, Romy came upon her father's body. Accounts indicate she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had gone with her then dialed 911. Following this, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, including the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently in custody and is ineligible for bail.

Correcting the Record

The person close to the family also disputed several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.

The source also disputed widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's conduct in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation includes reports of reportedly "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. Although the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

According to law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some media reports indicated the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
