Ex- BBC Specialists Undergo Parliamentary Inquiry In the Wake of Assertions of Prejudice in Disclosed Document
We start with inquiries from Conservative MP the panel's head, who oversees the committee.
She opens by offering background to the unauthorized memo prepared by Michael Prescott and published in the Telegraph.
"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation leaning in any particular direction, My only wish is for it straight, fair and equitable," he says.
When asked if he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is institutionally biased, Prescott responds: "No I don't. Let's be clear, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation does is top-tier - including factual and non-factual shows."
However, he continues: "There remains real work that must be undertaken at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
Another previous consultant BBC adviser questioned by the group, Caroline Daniel, states she views the British Broadcasting Corporation with great importance and that it maintains a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" regarding dynamic and complex topics.
"Was the BBC prepared to engage in a proper discussion and exchange and implement changes?" she reflects. "As I see it, yes they were."
