The United Kingdom is set to progress with employing the entire amount of frozen Russia's assets to bolster Ukraine's defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this joint measure would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to participate in talks.

They clarified that the move would be implemented in close cooperation with the United States.

British sanctions have blocked over £25bn of Russian resources since the Russian government initiated its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, up to this point, resources provided to Ukraine using Russia's assets had exclusively been sourced from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were aligned in their aim to drive progress toward utilizing the total worth of the seized Moscow's national funds to halt hostilities.

He stated that more sanctions in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This statement follows EU officials met in Copenhagen last week to consider utilizing frozen Russian holdings for a €140 billion financial aid to Ukraine.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump urged G7 allies to seize or utilize immobilized Russia's funds, as reported by reports.

The worth of frozen Russia's holdings in the Europe is calculated to be nearly €211bn.

Moscow launched extensive missile and drone strikes throughout Ukraine on that day, causing power cuts in many areas of Kyiv, Kyiv, and several other zones.

While commending the Britain's strong support for Kyiv, he said it should demonstrate clearly that it would engage in the initiative, as well as impose additional measures on Moscow.
